The Lake Zurich Area Veterans Monument

This 2004 Governor's Hometown Award winning monument is dedicated to all US and
Allied Military Veterans, who have served, are serving and will serve in the future; living and deceased; peace time and times of war. The names of hundreds of Lake Zurich and surrounding area residents and their relatives are engraved on bricks surrounding the monument. You can visit the monument at 200 Mohawk Trail Road in Lake Zurich, located just in front of the Lake Zurich Police Facility and across from the ELA Township Public Library.

Our Community Involvement
THANK YOU LAKE ZURICH AREA COMMUNITY - MAY 28th-29th--Our "Poppy Day" Volunteers were on the street corners and in the Lake Zurich shopping malls. they were handing out "Poppies" in return for your donation to help our Veterans confined to Veterans Hospitals. All donations received were turned over for use by the Veterans in the Hospital. All expenses are paid for by Lake Zurich Post #964 and Auxiliary Unit #964 and no cost is deducted from the donations received.
MAY 29th---The various Boy Scout Troops in the Lake Zurich Area assisted us in placing US Flags at the gravesites of Veterans buried in the Lake Zurich Cemetery, Fairfield Cemetery and St. Matthew Cemetery, on Saturday, May 29th. We thank the Scouts for volunteering their time on the Memorial Day weekend.

June 11th -- Flag Retirement Ceremony. A brief ceremony was held on Friday June 11th at 7:30PM to retire worn and tattered Flags in accordance with the US Flag Code and The American Legion procedures.
APRIL 20th--Unit #964-Ladies Auxiliary and Lake Zurich Post #964, presented a check for $5,000 to the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County for their use in helping Needy Veterans receive Dental treatment
